Remembering Xavier

A life held close in memory

Xavier Ryan Pellot, 23, of Waterbury, Connecticut, passed away unexpectedly on October 31, 2022. Born April 23, 1999, Xavier grew up surrounded by the love of his family and the Waterbury community. He attended Wilby High School, where friends remember him for his quick wit and ready smile.

Xavier worked for Gaudiosi Hauling of Wolcott as a refuge collector, a job he held with steady dedication. Those who knew him say he often put family first and took pride in helping in any way he could. He was known for a playful sense of humor and an easygoing manner that brightened everyday moments for people around him.

Family meant everything to Xavier. He is survived by his mother, Rosanne Pellot; his father, Antonio L. Powell; three sisters — Isabel Pellot, Alizae I. Powell and Dezerae M. Betancourt — and three brothers, Antonio R. Powell, Andrew D. Powell and Anival (AJ) Betancourt. He also leaves grandparents, a wide circle of aunts, uncles and cousins, and many friends who will carry fond memories of his laughter and generosity.

Relatives and friends gathered to honor Xavier at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home in Waterbury. In remembrance, his family has invited those who knew him to share memories and messages, and to offer comfort to one another as they grieve the loss of a beloved son, brother and friend.

Xavier’s life — though far too brief — left a clear mark on those who loved him. He will be remembered for his warmth, his quick humor, and the quiet ways he looked out for family. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.
