How it works

How to create an online memorial

MyMemorium gives the people you love a lasting page of their own: their story, their photographs, and a place where everyone who knew them can gather. Here is how it comes together.

Three simple steps

From a first draft to a shared place of remembrance

You can begin with just a name and add more whenever you are ready. Nothing is public until you choose to publish it.

  1. 1

    Create the page

Sign in with your Crime Solvers Central membership and start a memorial. Add their name, dates, and portrait, and choose a clear address such as mymemorium.com/jane-smith.

  2. 2

    Make it personal

Write their life story and obituary, build photo albums and a life timeline, choose one of ten themes, and decide exactly who can see the page.

  3. 3

    Invite remembrance

Share the link or a printable QR card. Family and friends can leave tributes, share stories and photos, light candles, and RSVP to services.

Everything in one gentle place

What you can add to a memorial page

Their story

A biography and a formal obituary, a favorite quote, places that mattered, their resting place, and a life timeline of the milestones and everyday joys that shaped them.

Photos, video, and sound

Upload photographs into albums, add videos (your own files or from YouTube and Vimeo), audio recordings, and documents. Choose a portrait, a cover photo, and a featured memory for the top of the page.

Family and loved ones

List the people who shared their life, and link to the memorials of relatives who are also remembered on MyMemorium.

Services and gatherings

Publish funeral services, celebrations of life, and anniversaries with dates, locations, virtual links, and RSVPs, so everyone knows where to be.

Tributes, stories, and candles

Visitors can leave a message, share a longer story, light a virtual candle, or add their own photos. You decide what is allowed, and you can approve each contribution before it appears.

Giving in their memory

Add a link to a charity, scholarship, or fundraiser so friends can honor them in a way that would have mattered to them.

Privacy and helpers

You decide who sees it and who helps

Every memorial can be public (searchable and easy to share), unlisted (only people with the link can find it), password protected, or private and shared only with people you invite. A public memorial can also be kept out of search engines.

You do not have to look after the page alone. Invite managers to help run it, editors to help write and add photos, and moderators to review tributes as they arrive. The owner and managers can download an export of the memorial at any time.

Memorials can remember a loved one who has passed, celebrate someone who is still with us as a living tribute, or honor a cherished companion with a pet memorial. Not sure where to begin with the words? Our guide on how to write an obituary walks you through it.
