Remembering Xavier

A life held close in memory

Xavier Claude “Junior” King was born December 2, 1989, in Washington, D.C., and carried a presence that family and friends remembered as regal, warm, and unforgettably kind. A loving son to Tina Marie King and the late Xavier Dunmore, Xavier built a life in Harrisburg where he was known for his loyalty to family, his easy confidence, and an adventurous love of travel and sports.

A self-reliant and hardworking man, Xavier worked as a roofer with Power Home Solar Company. Those who knew him spoke of his strong work ethic, his pride in providing for the people he loved, and the playful, magnetic way he could light up a room. He was often called “Junior” by family, a nickname that reflected both affection and the close bonds he kept with loved ones.

Xavier’s family life was central to who he was. He was a devoted son and a joyful uncle, beloved by nieces and nephews who remember his big heart and his ready smile. He is survived by his mother, Tina Marie King; sisters and brothers including Aquitta, James, Trevale, Jasmine and Stephanie King; cherished nieces and nephews; and a wide circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, godfamily and friends who treasured his presence.

Services to honor Xavier’s life were held at Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church, and he was laid to rest at Paxtang Cemetery. Those who gathered recalled his prideful stride, his thoughtful generosity, and the simple comforts he offered to others — conversation, laughter, and steady companionship. In remembering Xavier, family and friends celebrate a life that, though cut short, was full of warmth, loyalty and love.

Those wishing to send condolences or share a memory were directed to the arrangements published by the funeral home. Xavier’s family asked that his memory be kept alive in everyday kindnesses, and that his legacy be one of compassion and steadfast love.
