Remembering Wayne

A life held close in memory

Wayne R. Harbold Jr., age 50, passed away on January 30, 2015. Born and raised in Vineland, New Jersey, Wayne was a devoted son and a familiar face to coworkers and friends in northeastern Connecticut. For more than a decade he worked at Putnam Plastics in Dayville, where colleagues came to know him as a steady, hardworking presence.

Wayne had a creative and adventurous spirit. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and jeeps and could often be found playing his guitar. He expressed himself through drawing, poetry, and tattooing — outlets that reflected his thoughtful, artistic side. Faith was important to Wayne; he loved the Lord and Savior and formed deep friendships in Connecticut, including close bonds with friends named Danny and Pete who were especially meaningful to him.

He is remembered by his mother, Helen Hnidowicz of Vineland; his brother Steven Harbold and sister Stacy Harbold; and his nephew Don Emery, along with aunts, cousins, and other relatives who cherished him. Wayne was predeceased by his father, Wayne R. Harbold Sr., and his grandmother, Rose Hnidowicz.

Family and friends were invited to honor Wayne’s life at Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home in Vineland, with burial at Siloam Cemetery. Those who knew him recall a man of quiet warmth, creative talent, and sincere faith whose friendships and small acts of kindness left a lasting impression. Donations in Wayne’s memory were suggested to a charity of one’s choice.

Wayne’s family and friends carry forward the memory of his music, his craftsmanship, and the simple pleasures he loved. He will be remembered with affection by those who knew him and by the community that welcomed him during his years in Connecticut.
