From a young age Vernon showed gifts both on the field and in the arts. Those who knew him remember not only his competitiveness in sport but also a gentle creativity — Vernon expressed himself through art, poetry, and music, interests that rounded out a life full of warmth and talent.
Family was central to Vernon’s life. He is remembered as a loving son and devoted father to his children Paris, Logan, and Kairo.
