Remembering Tytus

A life held close in memory

Tytus Nasir Bridgeford, 16, of Kansas City, Missouri, brought a spark of youthful joy to everyone who knew him. Born December 26, 2007, in Omaha, Nebraska, Tytus had just finished his sophomore year at Northeast High School and was known for a warm, helpful nature and an easygoing sense of humor.

A true kid at heart, Tytus delighted in superheroes like The Flash and Spider-Man, and he spent hours building with Legos, making art, and exploring the outdoors on camping trips. Those who knew him remember a boy who loved to laugh, play, and lend a hand — small, everyday kindnesses that revealed a generous spirit.

Tytus is survived by his mother, Angelina; his sister, TyJahnay; five brothers — TyJhun, Tyler, Trenton, Trevaun and Tychicus — and his stepfather, Marklo. Family and friends gathered to celebrate his life on July 13, 2024, at Midtown Baptist Temple in Kansas City, where loved ones shared memories of the bright energy and gentle heart he brought to their lives.

Though his life was far too short, the warmth Tytus shared through his laughter, creativity, and helpfulness leaves a lasting impression on the people who loved him. He will be remembered for the small joys he embraced and the kindness he offered freely to others.

Tytus was gone far too soon. May the love, memories, and moments connected to this life continue to be treasured, and may those mourning find comfort in remembering what mattered most.
