A formal remembrance
Trevales “Tre” JaQuay Tolbert Jr., 21, of Douglasville, Georgia, is lovingly remembered by family and friends for the joy and bright spirit he brought to those around him. Tre was cherished as a beloved son, a devoted older brother and a treasured grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. His family says he had a way of bringing light and laughter into everyday moments, and his warmth touched many lives.
Family and community gathered to honor Tre’s life with a service held at Dodd-Sterling United Methodist Church in Atlanta, followed by interment at South-View Cemetery. He is survived by his mother, Santriss (Keith) Hawkins; his father, Trevales J. Tolbert, Sr.; siblings Keith Hawkins, Jr., Key'lia Hawkins, Olivia Yancey, Oliver Tolbert, Tripp Tolbert, Josiah Tolbert and Jaliah Tolbert; grandparents Stoney (Sylvia) Jackson, Sandra Jackson, Belinda (Terry) Brown and Aldreamer Hawkins; and a wide circle of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who cherished him.
Those who knew Tre remember his laughter, the ease with which he connected with others, and the everyday kindness he showed to family. While public details about his passing have been reported, the focus for his loved ones remains the warmth of his presence and the memories they shared. Tre’s family has asked that remembrances celebrate the person he was—one whose company brightened rooms and whose absence leaves a profound void.
In lieu of flowers, the family’s funeral home information provides options for those who wish to honor his memory with gestures of support. Trevales JaQuay Tolbert Jr. will be remembered for the light he brought into the lives of those who loved him and for the close family ties that meant so much to him. His memory will live on in those who carry forward the laughter and love he shared.
