Remembering Tremain
A life held close in memory
Tremain Earls, age 21, passed from this life on January 23, 2011. He is remembered first and foremost by those who loved him: his parents, Leo Collins, Jr. and Dora Earls, and his stepson relationship to Walter Ellis. Tremain was a grandson, brother, nephew, and friend whose relationships were central to who he was.
Family was at the heart of Tremain’s life. He is survived by sisters Tremeka and Brianna Earls; grandparents Lawrence and Catherlean Earls and Leo Sr. and Thelma Collins; and other beloved relatives including great-grandparents David and Essie Bethley. He is also remembered by an extended circle of aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends who kept him close through the years.
Tremain’s community included the people he worked alongside and the neighbors who knew him. Relatives and coworkers from places such as Ochsner, Marsiglia Construction Company, the City of New Orleans, and the J.W. Marriott Hotel were named among those invited to honor his memory, a reflection of the many parts of the city where he lived and contributed.
Family and friends gathered to celebrate Tremain’s life in a funeral service held at New Home Ministries in New Orleans on January 29, 2011. Estelle J. Wilson Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Though his life was cut short, those who loved Tremain recall his smile and the small everyday ways he touched others. He remains in the memories of family and friends who carry forward the warmth he shared. May those memories offer comfort and a lasting tribute to his life.
