Tony Curtis Stephens III

Tony Curtis Stephens III (January 7, 2007 – May 28, 2026) was cherished by family and friends for his bright smile, easy laughter and the care he showed to those he loved. Born in Raleigh and raised in the Wendell/Cary area, Tony grew up surrounded by a close-knit family that helped shape his gentle, loyal nature. From his earliest days he found joy in being around people — whether on the football field, in the classroom, or spending quiet time with relatives.

Tony discovered a love of history and music that fed his curiosity and gave him a thoughtful side. He played youth football with the Wendell Rams and carried the lessons of teamwork and resilience from the field into his daily life. In January 2026 he proudly completed his studies at Cary High School, a milestone celebrated by family who recall his steadiness and pride in that achievement.

Those closest to Tony remember small, telling details: how he took care in his appearance, the way his smile could lift the mood of a room, and his fierce protectiveness of the people he loved. He was a devoted uncle to Collin, Cyncere, Caleigh, Caleb and Cade Swinson, and a son, brother, grandson and friend whose presence left an impression on all who knew him. He is survived by his parents and a wide circle of siblings, aunts, grandparents and extended family who treasured him.

Though Tony’s time with us was far too brief, the kindness, loyalty and warmth he shared remain with his family and friends. His life is celebrated in gatherings where stories and memories keep his spirit near. In lieu of flowers the family has invited donations to the Cary Football Imp Club to honor his love of the game and community.

Services were arranged by Carlton L. Gray Funeral & Cremation Services with a public viewing on June 4, 2026 and a funeral service on June 5, 2026 at Cary First Baptist Church. Tony’s final resting place is Historic Oakwood Cemetery. Family requests that remembrances be uplifting and respectful as they mourn and celebrate his life.
