Obituary

A formal remembrance

Terrell Marshawn Miller was born July 18, 2019, in Macomb, Illinois. In his short life he was a beloved son, brother, and friend who filled rooms with a bright curiosity and a boyish sense of wonder. Those who knew Terrell remember a child who loved to sing in church, delighted in Spider-Man, and carried an intelligence and presence that charmed people of all ages.

Terrell was the cherished son of Keianna Adele Miller and Dewayne Anthony Crenshaw. He is lovingly remembered by siblings Kingston, A’Lanih, and Khristian; grandparents Verneata “YaYa” Jones, Karen Miller, Stephania “Nana” Rolley, and Bruce (Tonya) Crenshaw; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who treasured his bright spirit. Family accounts describe Terrell as engaging and talkative, someone who made an impression far beyond his years and who brought comfort and joy to those around him.

The community gathered to honor Terrell’s memory, offering prayers, music, and support to his family. Funeral services were held at Mount Calvary Church in Macomb, where family and friends joined in worship and remembrance. In lieu of flowers, the family indicated memorials could be made to the Terrell Miller Memorial Fund to support his remembrance.

Though his time with family and the community was far too short, Terrell’s presence left an enduring imprint on those who loved him. He is remembered for the small, luminous things — a favorite song sung in church, the delight at a superhero, the warm laugh that made ordinary moments brighter. His life, though brief, mattered deeply to many, and his memory continues to be treasured by all who were touched by him.
