Terrance Jones Jr.

Terrance Jerome "Tizzy" Jones Jr., born February 18, 1998, is lovingly remembered for the warmth and energy he brought to those around him. A proud graduate of University Prep (Class of 2016), Terrance earned high honors and carried that same determination into the next chapters of his life. Family and friends recall a young man quick to laugh, who offered help readily and who made those closest to him feel valued.

Terrance’s family remembered him as generous and kind — someone who would give the shirt off his back. He was known in his community for his bright smile and affectionate nature. Those personal qualities, and the promise of his future, are what his loved ones emphasize when they speak of him.

Following his passing on August 15, 2019, family members have kept his memory alive through vigils, balloon releases, and ongoing calls for answers. His mother, Aletha Gray, and other relatives have worked to ensure Terrance’s name and spirit remain present in the Hill District and beyond. The funeral arrangements were handled by House of Law, Inc. Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Penn Hills.

Terrance’s life — though cut far too short — is remembered for the good he showed others, the achievements he earned in school, and the deep affection of his family. Those who loved him continue to honor his memory and hold fast to the best parts of who he was: bright, giving, and full of heart.
