Remembering Suzanne

A life held close in memory

Suzanne (Devos) Faingnaert, 57, of McDonald, Pennsylvania, is remembered for a life shaped by family, caring work and quiet joys. Born March 9, 1964, she graduated from Fort Cherry High School and spent years supporting patients as a dental surgical assistant. Suzanne also served her community driving a school bus for the South Fayette School District for many years, a role that reflected her steady, dependable nature.

At home Suzanne found pleasure in the everyday: she loved cooking and baking for family gatherings, capturing moments with her camera, and sharing stories from trips she treasured to the Rocky Mountains and the western United States. Travel and photographs brought her delight, while the company of her grandchildren was a source of particular joy.

Suzanne was the daughter of the late Donald and Margaret (Martin) DeVos and carried strong ties to the McDonald area throughout her life. Friends and family recall her as someone who took care in small acts — preparing a favorite meal, offering help when it was needed, or pausing to take a photograph so a memory could be kept.

Her work in dental surgery and years as a school bus driver speak to a person who trusted responsibility and found meaning in being present for others. Those who knew her remember a practical kindness and a love of family that defined how she lived.

Suzanne’s life was cut short on May 24, 2021. While the circumstances of her passing are part of the public record, the memories held by family and friends focus on the warmth she brought into ordinary days — the meals, the trips, the photographed smiles, and the time with grandchildren. She is remembered with affection by those who loved her and by a community that benefited from her steady presence.
