Remembering Sir’Eric
A life held close in memory
Sir’Eric Vaughn Harris Bailey, known fondly as “NuNu,” was born July 1, 2005, in Dayton, Ohio. He brought warmth and energy to family gatherings and took pride in the roles closest to his heart: son and father. Sir’Eric was the beloved son of Lavetta Lynn Bailey and David Montgomery and is remembered for the care he showed to those he loved.
At school he competed on the wrestling team and enjoyed staying active. Outside of sports he loved music, video games, dancing, and spending time with friends. Those who knew him recall a young man who treasured family meals—especially his mother’s and grandmother’s cooking—and who looked forward to holidays like Thanksgiving when relatives gathered together.
Most of all, Sir’Eric loved his daughter, Aryiah. He valued being present for her and took seriously his responsibilities as a father, striving to provide and protect. Family members also remember him as a resilient spirit who faced health challenges with determination and a refusal to be defined by hardship.
Sir’Eric is survived by his daughter Aryiah; his parents, Lavetta Lynn Bailey and David Montgomery; his many siblings and extended family named in his service; and a wide circle of friends who celebrated his company and humor. The family held visitation and funeral services at Donald Jordan Memorial Chapel in Dayton.
Those who wish to honor Sir’Eric’s memory are invited to share a memory, photo, or message through the memorial page maintained by the funeral home. In remembering Sir’Eric, family and friends hold fast to the moments of laughter, the music he loved, and the care he showed his daughter—small, lasting proofs of a life that mattered deeply to those around him.
