Schammiel Lashe Kirven

Schammiel Lashe Kirven, 17, of Clovis, New Mexico, passed away on August 3, 2022. Born November 22, 2004, Schammiel was a cherished daughter, sister, granddaughter, and friend. Family members who survive her include her mother, Victoria Kirven of Albuquerque; siblings Patients Shields, Victorious Kirven and Unique Kirven; grandparents Charlie and Vickie Kirven; and a wide circle of aunts, uncles, and extended family who loved her.

Those who knew Schammiel recall a young life rooted in family and community. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Muffley Funeral Home in Clovis. A visitation was held at The Chapel on August 9, 2022, followed by a memorial service at Church of the Brethren on August 10, 2022, where family and friends gathered to honor her memory. She was preceded in death by her uncle Joshawa Kirven and her sister Dynasty Rivers.

Though words cannot fully express the sorrow felt by those who loved her, the gatherings and remembrances celebrated the relationships and daily moments that made up Schammiel’s life. Her memory endures in the stories shared by family, the comfort of those who mourn her, and the quiet ways she mattered to people in her community. May she be remembered with kindness and the dignity her family seeks as they grieve and celebrate her life.
