Obituary

A formal remembrance

Samuel “Sammy” Jennings, 49, of Jamestown, Tennessee, passed away at his home on April 9, 2026. Known to family and friends simply as Sammy, he was a loving father to his daughter Samantha and sons Caiden and Austin, and a cherished brother to April Rogers.

Sammy carried with him the steady, familiar presence of a lifelong local. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Edward Jennings Sr. and Aletta Ann (Pitcock) Jennings, and by his brother Mark Jennings. His life is remembered by a wide circle of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends who celebrated his easygoing manner and the everyday kindnesses he offered those around him.

Those who loved Sammy recall a family man whose priorities were clear: his children and his close relationships. The family invited friends and neighbors to honor his memory with graveside services on April 26, 2026, at Livingston Cemetery in Jamestown, with arrangements through Jennings Funeral Homes. In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made toward funeral expenses to assist his loved ones during this time.

Though words are small consolation, the outpouring of condolences from the community and the steady presence of family reflect the place Sammy held in the hearts of those who knew him. His legacy lives in the children he raised, the family traditions he helped sustain, and the many quiet moments of care and support he gave. He will be remembered for the steady, familiar quiet that made him a beloved figure to his family and neighbors.

Friends and family are encouraged to share memories and condolences with the Jennings family through the funeral home. Sammy’s memory endures in the stories told by those who loved him and in the lives of his children who carry forward his influence.
