Obituary
A formal remembrance
Ryan Jacob West, 38, of Lumberton, Texas, was remembered by family and friends for his dedication to those he loved and his service to country. A native of Kansas City, Missouri, Ryan served in the United States Marine Corps and carried the values of duty and loyalty into his life at home.
Ryan was a devoted father whose children were central to his life. He is survived by his mother, Lisa Guidry West; sons and daughters named in family notices; and siblings who will carry his memory forward. Those who knew him recall a man who took pride in his commitments and who showed up for his family in both ordinary and difficult moments.
Funeral services were held at Farmer Funeral Home on January 21, 2017, with interment at Morse Cemetery in Buna. Visitation was arranged so that relatives, neighbors, and fellow veterans could offer condolences and celebrate his life.
Though Ryan’s life ended suddenly, those who loved him remember the practical ways he supported others — in everyday kindnesses, the responsibilities he fulfilled, and the quiet steadiness he brought as a father and son. His family has requested privacy and the space to grieve together while honoring the parts of him that mattered most: his service, his role as a parent, and his ties to family and community.
Ryan’s life is commemorated by his children, his mother, siblings, and extended family. He will be remembered by many who knew him as someone who loved fiercely and lived with a sense of responsibility to those closest to him.
