Obituary

A formal remembrance

Ryan Shawn Johnson, 28, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, passed away April 24, 2019. Born January 23, 1991, in McAlester, Oklahoma, Ryan was known to family and friends as a hardworking welder whose practical skill and steady presence marked both his work and his personal life.

A son to Dawn Johnson and Jason Muniz, Ryan valued time with those closest to him. He took pride in his trade and in being someone others could rely on when a steady hand or a helping presence was needed. Friends remembered him for his practical nature, his willingness to pitch in, and the ordinary moments—shared jokes, a helping hand, and quiet companionship—that defined his relationships.

Family and friends gathered in Muskogee in early May to honor Ryan’s life and to celebrate the warmth he brought to everyday moments. The services reflected the simple dignity of a life spent caring for loved ones and working with skill. Those who loved him recall his practical talents, his loyalty, and the small, sustaining gestures that made him important to his circle.

Though Ryan’s life ended far too soon, the memory of his steady character, his dedication to work, and the love of his family endures. He is survived by his mother, Dawn Johnson; his father, Jason Muniz; and other family members and friends who hold his memory dear. May his family find comfort in the shared stories and the quiet ways he enriched the lives around him.
