Rosalind Brown

Rosalind R. Brown, 27, of Jacksonville, Florida, is lovingly remembered by family and friends for the care and devotion she brought to those closest to her. A devoted mother, Rosalind took joy in her children, Dejoin Corley and Destini Cooper, who were the center of her life. Her faith and family ties sustained her and were a source of comfort to all who knew her.

Rosalind was the beloved daughter of Freddie L. and Wilma D. Brown, and sister to Alisa "Nikki" Brown and Racquell Becca. She is also survived by her brothers Freddie Brown and Delfred Brown, as well as nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends who remember her bright spirit and the warmth she shared. Those who knew Rosalind recall her gentle presence, the way she cared for her children, and the close bonds she kept with family.

Family and friends gathered to honor Rosalind’s life with services at Christ Tabernacle Baptist Church on North Davis Street, with interment at Restlawn Cemetery. The arrangements were made by James Graham Mortuary, which welcomed loved ones for visitation prior to services. In place of further words, those who loved Rosalind offered memories, prayers and sympathy to her children and family as they navigated a profound loss.

Though her time was far too short, Rosalind’s role as a mother and daughter, and the relationships she nurtured, remain the heart of her legacy. Her children and family carry forward her memory in the small, daily ways she shaped their lives — in stories, in photos, and in the quiet remembrances shared among those who loved her. May the love she gave and received continue to be a source of comfort and strength to all who remember Rosalind.
