Ricky Allen Williams

Ricky A. “Lil Ricky” Williams Jr. (October 19, 1981 – May 1, 2022) brought laughter, warmth and a generous spirit to those who knew him. Born to Ricky A. Williams Sr. and Karen J. “Ducy” Williams in Wiesbaden, Germany, Ricky grew up moving with his family and later completed his GED at Denbigh Educational Center in Newport News, VA. He lived and worked in both Kansas City and Lexington, and his family remembered him for the bright, confident presence he carried into every room.

Ricky loved fashion and took pride in his appearance — his mother fondly called him “pretty Ricky.” He was known for a booming, contagious laugh and a playful, teasing sense of humor that made him unforgettable to friends and family. He delighted in cooking and was always eager to share a favored recipe, often joking about his skill with seasonings. An enthusiastic Kansas City sports fan, Ricky cheered loudly for his teams and enjoyed showing his city pride wherever life took him.

Work was part of Ricky’s life in both Kansas City and Lexington; among his positions, he worked at Research Medical Center and most recently with Xooker cleaning company. Above all, he treasured his family. He is survived by his parents, his children — sons Terry Edwards, Ra’Colby A. and RaShad A. Williams, and daughter Ri’Niyah A. Coomer — and by sisters and brothers who remember his loving, affectionate nature.

Ricky was preceded in death by paternal grandfather Richard C. Williams Sr., paternal grandmother Mary E. Sanders, infant brother Rashad A. Williams, and other relatives. The family’s memorials and services celebrated the life he lived: a life full of laughter, loyalty to family, and small everyday pleasures that revealed his generous heart. Those who loved Ricky remember him as a warm, boisterous presence whose smile and laugh remain in their memories.
