Remembering Randy

A life held close in memory

Randy Tillman (December 9, 1959 — January 27, 2014) will be remembered for the warmth and humor he shared with family and friends. Born and raised in Dayton, Randy grew up surrounded by a close-knit family and developed a lifelong love of sports — especially Ohio State football — and the simple pleasures of good company and music.

Randy was a dedicated father who cherished time with his daughters, Amanda and Amber, and took great pride in his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy. Family meant everything to him; he is remembered by his parents, Barbara and Barry Tillman, his siblings Larry, Tammy, Tim, Richard, and Michelle, and the many relatives and friends whose lives he touched.

Those who knew Randy recall his generous spirit, ready laugh, and a smile that could brighten a room. He loved to dance and welcomed opportunities to be together, whether at family gatherings or community events. Randy’s kindness and sense of humor left a lasting impression on those around him and remain a comfort to his loved ones.

Services were held at East Dayton Christian Church with interment at Woodland Cemetery. Friends and family celebrated his life through memories, stories, and the shared comfort of community. In honoring Randy’s memory, donations to East Dayton Christian Church were suggested as an expression of support to the family.

Randy’s family remembers him with love: "Dad, we love you all the way up to the sky." His life — his laughter, his devotion to family, and his gentle generosity — continues to be treasured by those who loved him.
