Obituary

A formal remembrance

Pamela Dawn Lawson of Aiken, South Carolina, passed away on January 26, 2018, at the age of 38. Born in Macon, Georgia, Pamela brought a steady kindness and practical warmth to everyone who knew her. She spent the last decade as part of the Aiken community and was known for her ready willingness to help friends and neighbors.

For fourteen years she shared her life with her husband, Jonathan Lawson, and she took great pride in her blended family. Pamela was a devoted mother to Taylor Lawson, Roger Lawson, Samantha Bowles and Sabrina Bowles, and she was a stepmother to Miranda Hill and Justin Lawson. Family mattered deeply to her, and she treasured time with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her mother, Sharon Smith Redmon, and siblings Marie Redmon, Clint Redmon and Renee Tonker.

Pamela found satisfaction in caring work and in simple pleasures. During her time working at Shadow Oaks Assisted Living she was valued for her compassion and steady presence. She also enjoyed playing pool and spending time with close friends; her warmth and sense of loyalty left a lasting impression on those around her. Several friends were especially close to her, including Cody Diminovich, who was considered a best friend.

Family and friends will remember Pamela for the ways she reached out to help others and for the steadiness she brought to her home. Her celebration of life was arranged by Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Graniteville, and memorial contributions were suggested to Caper's Chapel United Methodist Church in Beech Island, SC. Those who knew her recall a woman who loved fiercely, gave freely of her time, and whose presence made ordinary days better for the people she cared about.

Pamela’s life touched many; she will be remembered with gratitude by family and friends who carry forward the warmth she offered so readily.
