Nathan Griggs

Nathan Dijon Griggs, 25, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away April 7, 2025. Born September 13, 1999, in Lubbock, Nathan was a devoted son and proud father who delighted in family gatherings and the simple joys of everyday life.

Nathan had a gift for making others smile; he loved music and enjoyed cooking for family—deviled eggs were a favorite he took special care preparing. He spent treasured afternoons fishing with his grandfather, Robert Griggs, and often helped maintain the church yard and his backyard, always willing to work hard to finish the job.

A graduate of Coronado High School, Nathan balanced responsibilities with care for his two children, Ki’Naybree and Khody, whom he loved deeply. He is remembered by family for his steady hands, willingness to help, and the small ways he showed affection—whether sharing a meal, lending a hand around the house, or joining relatives for time together.

Nathan is survived by his father, Nathan Griggs (Tameca); his mother, Diane Edwards; grandfather Elder Robert Griggs; grandmother Sherry Lee (Byron); great grandfather George Lewis; his children; several siblings and extended family members who treasured his presence; and a wide circle of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by several relatives who shaped his life and faith.

Services to celebrate Nathan’s life were held at Agape Temple C.O.G.I.C., with private disposition arranged by Griffin Mortuary. Those who loved Nathan remember him for his kind heart, his dedication to family, and the everyday moments that revealed his character. His memory will remain woven into family stories, meals shared, and quiet afternoons by the water.
