Remembering Miguel
A life held close in memory
Miguel “Pudge” Ethan Soto Trader, born April 7, 2000, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, grew up on Virginia’s Eastern Shore where he formed the friendships and family ties that shaped his life. Known to those close to him as “Pudge,” Miguel is remembered first for the love he carried for his family — a devoted son to Clarissa Victoria Trader, Miguel “Pochi” Soto Jr., and Charles Thomas Trader, and a caring father whose role as parent was central to his life.
He spent his childhood and young adulthood in the tight-knit communities of the Eastern Shore, building bonds that endured. Miguel is lovingly survived by his siblings Tatyana Yesenia Soto Trader, Leilani Daisy Soto Trader, and Charles Thomas “TJ” Trader Jr., along with grandparents, extended family, and many friends who counted on his steady presence. Those who knew him remember everyday moments — family gatherings, local friendships, and the small acts of care that made him a constant in the lives of those closest to him.
Funeral services to honor Miguel’s life were arranged with Salyer Funeral Home and held at Christ United Methodist Church in Chincoteague, reflecting his ties to the local faith and community. Family requested that remembrances be made in ways that support causes meaningful to them, and online condolences were accepted through the funeral home’s guest channels.
Miguel’s passing on September 10, 2025, at age 25 was met with sorrow across the Eastern Shore community. While words can never fully capture the depth of a life lived among loved ones, those who cared for Miguel recall a warm and familiar presence — a son, brother, and father whose memory endures in the hearts of family and friends. He will be forever cherished and remembered by those who loved him.
