Obituary
A formal remembrance
Michael Leonard Roloff, 31, of Kalispell, passed away on December 26, 2014. A graduate of Lincoln County High School (Class of 2001), Michael was a man who loved the wide outdoors of Northwest Montana and gave his time and talents freely to family and friends. He found great joy in simple pleasures — a drive through the countryside, a quiet afternoon by the water, and being active outside whether swimming or playing tennis. Above all, Michael cherished his role as a father. His son, Trace David, was at the center of his life, and Michael’s family remembers him for his warm hugs, infectious laugh, and readiness to help others.
Known among family and friends as a person of many trades, Michael lent practical skills wherever they were needed and was valued for his willing spirit. He is survived by his son, Trace Roloff; his mother, Ferrial Roloff; his sister and close friend Cora Roloff; nephew Mason Roloff; and numerous other relatives and friends who carry his memory. He was preceded in death by his father, Dave Roloff, and several beloved extended family members.
A private family funeral service was held, and Michael was laid to rest at Tobacco Valley Cemetery in Eureka on December 30, 2014. In lieu of flowers, the family requested that memorial contributions be made to help provide for Trace’s future. Those who knew Michael recall him for his generosity, the comfort of his presence, and the small everyday gestures that showed how deeply he loved his son and family. He will be remembered with affection and gratitude by all who were fortunate to know him.
