Remembering Micah
A life held close in memory
Micah “Cash” Gaudio, 19, brought an easy joy and steady leadership to every place he belonged — from classrooms and sports fields to his church and neighborhood. Born May 21, 2005, in Roanoke, Virginia, Cash was the beloved son of Micah Gaudio and Shannon Meyers and a brother who treasured time with his siblings and extended family.
A proud graduate of Liberty Christian Academy, Cash stood out for his enthusiastic presence at games and school events, always the first to cheer on teammates and support classmates. He played basketball and football at various schools, including Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy and Jefferson Forest High School, and carried a strong academic record, earning a 3.5 GPA and service as an officer in the National Honor Society. He continued his education as a freshman at Central Virginia Community College, looking ahead with the same energy he brought to everything he did.
Cash was active in his church community, where people remember him for his bright spirit, leadership qualities, and genuine care for others. Family and friends recall him as someone who loved a good theme night at school, attended events with infectious enthusiasm, and made people feel seen.
Though his life was cut far too short on September 30, 2024, the impact of Cash’s kindness and vitality endures in the lives he touched. His family has honored his memory with community-focused efforts that reflect the generous and connected life he led — including gatherings and initiatives that celebrate his love of people and service.
Cash is survived by his parents, his sister McKenna-Kate, his brother Reese, grandparents, and a wide circle of relatives and friends who continue to carry his laughter and leadership forward. In remembering Micah “Cash” Gaudio, those who knew him hold close the warmth, faith, and spirited presence that defined him and continue to inspire small acts of kindness in his name.
