Remembering Marvin

A life held close in memory

Marvin Gabriel Jenkins Jr., 21, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on October 13, 2023. Those who knew Marvin remember a young father whose family was at the center of his world. He is survived by his two children, who were a source of joy and purpose in his life, his mother Alicia (Bob) Gray, sisters Gabryelle Jenkins and Makala Carruth, brothers Marquez Jenkins, Bob Waters, and Chauncey Robinson, and a circle of nieces, other relatives, and friends whose lives he touched.

Marvin’s family arranged services to celebrate his life. A family hour was held on the evening before the funeral, followed by funeral services at Tree of Life Church of God in Christ. He was laid to rest at Arkansas Memorial Gardens. The arrangements were entrusted to Hubble Funeral Home, which published a notice on behalf of the family.

Public notices for Marvin emphasize the people who mattered most to him: his children and close family members. While Marvin’s life was cut far too short, those who loved him remember him through the relationships he nurtured and the everyday presence he gave to those around him. The family’s published notice names his special friend LaSharra Rush and lists other relatives and friends who survive him, underscoring the network of care that surrounded him.

Family and friends wishing to honor Marvin’s memory were invited to send flowers or express condolences through the funeral home. In remembrance, Marvin’s life is honored not by the circumstances of his death but by the children he loved, the family ties he strengthened, and the community who gathered to mourn and support one another during their loss.
