Remembering Marisol

A life held close in memory

Marisol “Mari” Ramirez was born July 20, 2007, in Lubbock and grew into an energetic, creative young woman who found joy in both hands‑on work and quiet pursuits. A 2024 graduate of Sands High School in Ackerly, Marisol worked locally as a parts clerk at O’Reilly Auto Parts in Slaton, where she was known for her steady work ethic and interest in automobiles.

Outside of work, Marisol’s interests reflected a wide and thoughtful curiosity. She enjoyed working on cars and collecting small treasures — gems, rocks and snow globes — that reflected her love of detail. Music was central to her life; she treasured playing and listening to vinyl records. She also filled her time with sewing, drawing and learning about the night sky. Travel and photography were among her favorite ways to capture and remember the people and places she loved.

Family and community were important to Marisol. Those who knew her described a young woman whose loyalty and care for others were defining traits. She spent time with relatives and friends in the Slaton area and maintained close ties with family in nearby towns. Her warmth, quiet creativity and dedication to the people around her left a meaningful impression on those who met her.

Marisol’s life was tragically cut short on January 11, 2026. Funeral services were arranged locally and included a rosary and Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Slaton followed by interment at Englewood Cemetery. While public records emphasize the sorrow of her passing, it is important to remember Marisol for the everyday passions and small joys that made her who she was — a young woman with artistic interests, a love of music, and a generosity of spirit toward family and friends.

Public notices and family memorial arrangements provide the basis for the above details; they are offered here to honor Marisol’s life rather than to recount the circumstances of her death. Her memory lives on in the music she loved, the projects she undertook, and the images and keepsakes she treasured.
