Malayshia Solomon

Malayshia Lena Solomon, a cherished 12-year-old of Lynchburg, Virginia, passed away on February 24, 2023. Known to family and friends for her bright spirit, Malayshia was remembered as a beautiful and promising young girl with so much life ahead of her. She was a devoted daughter and sister who brought joy to those close to her.

Malayshia is survived by her parents, Karita Winston and Damien Solomon, and her brothers, including Malachi Dabney, Marquis Solomon and Marquel Solomon, along with grandparents, great-grandmother, and a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. Her family remembers her as a young person who mattered immensely to them and to the community that gathered to honor her memory.

Friends, neighbors and community members came together in the weeks following her passing to celebrate Malayshia’s life and to offer love and support to her family. Funeral arrangements were handled by Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory in Lynchburg.

Though her life was far too short, Malayshia’s memory remains with those who loved her. Her family’s love and the community’s compassion stand as a testament to the place she held in the lives of many. She will be remembered for the light she brought into ordinary days and for the promise that her family and friends held for her future.
