Obituary

A formal remembrance

Lucas Xander Templin of Frazeysburg, Ohio, was born June 6, 2003, in Zanesville. A fourth‑grade student at Frazeysburg Elementary School, Lucas delighted in time spent outdoors — riding his bike, playing soccer, and imagining worlds with his beloved Legos and Bionicles. He brought a curious, active energy to the small pleasures of childhood and was known to family and friends for the joy he found in play and the company of those closest to him.

Lucas was the son of Edwin S. Templin and Catrina L. Swartz and was treasured by his brothers, grandparents, and extended family. Those who loved him remember a boy who loved running across a yard, kicking a ball with friends, and building stories piece by piece with his hands. His playful companionship and easy enthusiasm left an impression on his schoolmates and neighbors in the Frazeysburg community.

Family and friends were invited to remember Lucas during calling hours at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, with funeral services held at the same chapel and burial at Frazeysburg Cemetery. In honoring his memory, relatives and community members reflected on a short life that was full of childhood wonder and simple joys that mattered deeply to those who knew him.

Though his family’s grief is profound, Lucas’s memory lives on in the acts of kindness, the shared stories, and the quiet ways his presence touched others. He is lovingly remembered by his parents, brothers, grandparents, and the many relatives and friends who cherished him.
