Louis Odle

Louis Lee Odle, 69, of Elwood, passed away on December 5, 2024. Born July 25, 1955, in Noblesville, Indiana, Louis was the son of Louie L. and Norma Jean (Randall) Odle and a graduate of Noblesville High School. Over the years he supported his family as a salesman for DoAll Company in Grand Rapids and later worked as a security guard.

Louis was a practical, hands-on person who found satisfaction in working outdoors. He enjoyed landscaping and took pride in tending to yards and gardens. He was also an avid hunter who appreciated time spent in the outdoors, and he loved projects that let him use his skills with tools. Those who knew him recall a man who enjoyed sharing stories — including memories from his time stationed in Germany — and who delighted in simple pleasures: country and bluegrass music, football, NASCAR, western novels, and collecting belt buckles.

Family was central to Louis. He is survived by his two daughters, Natalie (Scott) Frank of Indianapolis and Heidi (Ryan Spurrier) Bradley of Lapel, and by five grandchildren — Jordan, Brook Bradley, Madisyn Spurrier, Jack Spurrier and Julia Frank — who brought him great joy. He also leaves behind nieces, nephews, and many friends who will remember his steady presence. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia (Thibodeau) Odle, his parents, a brother, and three sisters.

A private family visitation was arranged with Bozell Funeral Homes, Lapel Chapel, and a graveside service at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville will be held at a later date. Louis’s family invited friends to share condolences with the funeral home.

Louis’s life was one of service, steady work, and devotion to family. He will be remembered for his practical generosity, his love of the outdoors, and the small ways he made life better for those around him.
