Obituary
A formal remembrance
Logan Connor Etterle of Thomson, Georgia, was remembered for a warm heart and generous nature. Born January 19, 2001, Logan carried a gentle spirit and a listening ear that made him a steady friend and loving son. He graduated from Harlem High School in 2019 and attended Middle Georgia State College, pursuing the future he was excited about. Logan worked in medical transport operations with Square One Medical Transportation, a line of work that reflected his deep desire to help others.
Family and friends recall Logan’s enthusiasm for simple joys: skateboarding with friends, cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs, and spending time with those he loved. He had a special compassion for children, the elderly, and people with disabilities, often placing others’ needs before his own. These qualities made him someone many relied on and admired.
A member of Sharon Baptist Church, Logan’s faith and close family ties mattered to him. He is survived by his parents, Christopher Edwin Etterle and Lisa Toole Etterle; his siblings Russell Sammons, Blake Etterle, and Emily Sammons; nieces and nephews; grandparents; and a wide circle of relatives and friends who treasured his presence.
Visitation and funeral services were arranged by Beggs Funeral Home in Thomson, where family and community gathered to celebrate his life and remember the kindness he showed to many. In lieu of flowers, memorials were suggested for Sharon Baptist Church and the Harlem High School Football Program—organizations that reflect the connections and causes Logan cared about.
Though taken far too soon on June 12, 2022, Logan is remembered for his warmth, concern for others, and the many small ways he brightened the lives around him. His family’s love and the memories shared by friends stand as a testament to a young life that mattered.
