Remembering Krystle
A life held close in memory
Krystle Layne Buhl, born November 9, 1982 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, brought warmth and a sense of joy to everyone who knew her. A talented young musician, Krystle played flute in both marching band and orchestra and carried a love of music throughout her life. She was an enthusiastic fan of Oklahoma Sooners football and delighted in sharing that passion with friends and family. Krystle also loved the outdoors—especially the lake—where she found peace and a place to make memories.
Krystle was a devoted mother to her daughter, Nova Layne Meier, and a loving partner to her fiancé, Matthew Meier. Family was central to Krystle’s life; she is survived by her mother Debbra J. Keener, father Gary Buhl (Teresa), stepfather George Keener (Kathy), brother Jeremy Buhl (Ashle), half-sister Sami Joe, and a wide circle of extended family and friends who remember her generosity and easy smile.
Those who knew Krystle recall her as someone who “never met a stranger”—kind, outgoing, and quick to make a new friend. She enjoyed being active in her community in the Branson area and took pleasure in small, everyday moments with the people she loved. Her family celebrated her life with services arranged through Cremations of the Ozarks in Hollister, Missouri.
Krystle’s sudden passing on May 29, 2021, was a devastating loss to all who loved her. While her life was cut short, the memories she made—through music, laughter, family gatherings, and sunny days at the lake—remain a lasting testament to her spirit. She will be remembered for her warmth, her devotion to her daughter, and the bright presence she brought into the lives of others.
