Remembering Kristopher

A life held close in memory

Kristopher Tyler Kenney (March 10, 2003 – June 20, 2023) was a young man who lived with big-hearted devotion to family. Born in Lucedale, Mississippi, Kristopher was raised by his mother Lisa Renee' Dickinson and grew close to the stepfather who became the father-figure in his life. He graduated high school in 2022 and went straight to work, supporting his new family as a sandblaster with Melvin Pierce Painting, where his strong work ethic was clear to everyone who knew him.

Kristopher treasured his role as a father. He and his fiancée, Tailor Grace Harris, welcomed their son Tyler Lee Powell-Kenney in October 2022, and Kristopher approached parenthood with quiet pride and commitment. Family remembered him as warm and goofy, always ready to make others laugh, take a photo of a sunset to share the moment, or offer a small adventure to cousins on a bike or go-cart. He loved music, video games with his siblings, and spending his days off close to those he loved.

Kindness and compassion were parts of Kristopher’s character from a young age; he showed concern for others and listened to people’s stories. He was a devoted son and a brother to three older sisters, and his extended family—stepsiblings, nieces, nephews, and friends—felt his lively spirit and big heart. Though his time was far too short, those who knew him recall a young man who lived in the moment, worked hard, and loved fiercely.

Services to honor Kristopher’s life were held by Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home on June 27, 2023. He is remembered by his fiancée Tailor and their son Tyler; his mother Lisa Renee' Dickinson; sisters Chasity Renee' Clark, Meaghan Welborn, and Alexis Welborn; stepfather Herbert Samuel Haefeker and step-siblings; and many other family members and friends who cherished him. His family described him as a loving father and son whose bright presence left a deep and lasting impression on all who knew him.
