Remembering Kimi
A life held close in memory
Kimi Reylander, born September 18, 2006, was a luminous presence in her family’s life—an imaginative child who found joy in singing and creating art. At nine years old she delighted those around her with a ready smile, a love of music in church, and the small but meaningful ways she made ordinary days brighter for her parents, siblings, and grandparents.
Kimi was cherished by her parents, Jay and Amanda Reylander, and loved by her brother, Jaxon Fuller. She was surrounded by a large and loving extended family, including grandparents Rodney and Tina Watson and Michael and Theresia Reylander, aunts, uncles, cousins, and devoted great-grandparents Joel and Joan Watson. Her family remembers her as their “little angel,” a child whose creative spirit and sweet nature left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Her family welcomed neighbors and friends to celebrate Kimi’s life at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel, where they gathered to share memories, photos, and songs that reflected the things she loved. Services were held with close family in attendance, and Kimi was laid to rest at Forest Crest Cemetery. In the weeks that followed, her school and community honored her memory in small tributes and remembrances, underscoring how deeply she was loved.
Though her time was far too short, Kimi’s gentle spirit and love of music and art continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She is remembered not for the manner of her passing but for the warmth, creativity, and light she brought into the lives around her.
