Obituary

A formal remembrance

Keon Devont'e Aguilar (March 24, 1994 – June 19, 2023) lived a life shaped by service, faith, and family. A 2012 graduate of Jackson High School, Keon distinguished himself early through commitment and leadership in the ROTC program. Those who knew him remember a young man who carried a strong sense of purpose and a readiness to support others.

Following high school, Keon continued that dedication through honorable service in the United States Army. His time in uniform reflected a willingness to meet challenges and a pride in serving his country. After military service, he found work driving trucks — a vocation that allowed him to see new places, meet people, and take on the everyday challenges he appreciated.

Keon’s family and faith were central to his life. He was an active member of Grace Church and drew strength from his belief. He is survived by his mother, Michelle “Vickie” Aguilar, several aunts and uncles, and a wide circle of friends who remember his helpful spirit and steady presence. He was preceded in death by his father, Soloman Hannah, and other relatives who shaped his life.

A memorial service was held to honor Keon’s life with visitation and military honors provided by Burden & Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home in Jackson. In remembering Keon, family and friends recall a man whose purpose was to serve others, who held firm to his faith, and who lived with a quiet dedication to those he loved. His life—though ended too soon—left an imprint on the community and the many people he helped in everyday ways.
