Remembering Kenneth
A life held close in memory
Kenneth “Kenny” Jerome Frierson II (December 3, 1991 – June 19, 2020) brought warmth and steady kindness to the lives of those who knew him. Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, he moved with his family to Fort Wayne, Indiana in childhood and grew into a young man who loved sports, family, and small everyday joys. Known by friends and family as “Kenny,” he was an avid participant in local youth football and played through junior high and high school, graduating from Northrop High School in 2010.
Kenny cared deeply for his family and was a devoted father to his two children. Those who knew him describe a calm, laid-back presence who supported his loved ones through ordinary and challenging times. He found purpose in practical goals for his family’s future—he had recently earned his commercial driver’s license learner’s permit and was working toward new ways to provide for those he loved.
Faith and community were part of Kenny’s life. He accepted Christ in his early teens and was baptized at Way of Holiness COGIC, a step that mattered to him and his family. Outside of family and faith, he enjoyed watching and playing sports—especially football and basketball—and carried the teamwork and dedication of those fields into daily life.
Kenny is remembered by his family and friends as a gentle giant: kind, dependable, and quietly proud of the life he was building. Though his time was cut far too short, the care he showed his children and the small, steadfast ways he touched his community remain his lasting legacy. He will be lovingly remembered by those who were fortunate to know him.
