Obituary

A formal remembrance

Kendrick Randal Cockerham was born September 18, 1978, and raised in New Orleans. He is remembered first and foremost as a devoted father whose children were the center of his life. Kendrick loved fellowship and family gatherings and was known among relatives and friends for his easygoing nature and readiness to share a laugh.

He was educated in the Orleans Parish Public School System and made his living in the automotive industry, working as a car buyer, broker, and salesman. Through his work and in the community he cultivated close friendships and a reputation for being personable and genuine.

Kendrick is survived by his loving mother, Pearlie C. George; his father, Randy Tate; his fiancée, Kristin Motley; two sons, Quave Marshall and Kendrick Cockerham, Jr.; and three daughters, Tasia McLaughlin, Zyrie Cockerham, and Mah'Lia Sorden. He also leaves sisters Kandi Morris and Christina George, along with a wide circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends who cherished him.

Friends and family celebrated Kendrick’s life with a visitation and a Celebration of Life service held at Little Zion Baptist Church in New Orleans, followed by interment at Providence Memorial Park in Metairie. Those who knew Kendrick remember his warmth, his love for his children, and the simple joy he found in being with those he loved.

Kendrick’s life—marked by his care for family and his ties to his community—remains a meaningful presence to those who loved him. He is remembered with affection and gratitude for the times he shared with family and friends.
