Kalob Lawson

Kalob L. Lawson of Kimberling City, Missouri, brought care and skill to everything he did. Born March 20, 1986 in Kansas City, he grew up playing sports at Smithville High School—finding early outlets for his competitive spirit in football, wrestling and track. Over the years Kalob turned his curiosity about vehicles into real expertise, becoming a master mechanic and technician who took pride in fixing and building things.

Kalob supported his family through his tree-trimming and firewood business, working long hours so his children could have what they needed. He was described by those close to him as hardworking, creative, and determined — someone who learned a task thoroughly and mastered it. Above all else, Kalob cherished his role as a father to Keighden, Liam and Makennah, and as fiancé to Kimberly Rankin. Family was central to his life and the measure by which he set his priorities.

Friends and family remembered his practical talents and the steady presence he offered: a man who could turn wrenches, shape wood, or solve a problem with quiet confidence. He is survived by his children, his father David W. Lawson, his brother Kailan Lawson, his fiancée, and other relatives and close friends who carry his memory forward.

Kalob died suddenly on February 10, 2021. In the weeks afterward, those who loved him marked his life with services and shared memories of his devotion to family, his work ethic, and the everyday kindnesses that made him important to so many. He will be remembered for the care he gave his children and for the skill and determination with which he lived.
