Their life, in the words of those who remember

The story of K-Leigh Hill-Nelson

K‑Leigh Oshia Hill‑Nelson (born December 17, 1996) was a Port Allegany native whose life centered on family and caring for others. A 2015 graduate of Port Allegany High School, K‑Leigh trained and worked as a certified nursing assistant at Lakeview Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Smethport. Coworkers and residents remembered her as a kind, patient presence who brought everyday comfort and attention to those in her care.

Her greatest joy was her young son, Levy Theodore Hill, and family sources and notices emphasize how central he was to her life. K‑Leigh was also a daughter and sister — she is survived by her father, Robert Hill; a brother, Michael S. Hill; and sisters Keiya M. Rupert, Brittany N. Andreano, and Mickalie A. Hill‑Nelson, along with extended family, nieces, nephews and friends who loved her. Notices placed by the family and by the funeral home describe memorial arrangements and a community gathering held to celebrate her life.

Friends and community members recall K‑Leigh for a quietly generous spirit: someone who showed up for others, whether on a work shift helping residents at Sweden Valley Manor and Lakeview Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, or at home with family. Local funeral and memorial information encouraged donations to help her son and family, reflecting the community’s desire to support those she left behind.

K‑Leigh’s life was cut short in February 2025. In the months afterward, public records and local news reported charges and legal proceedings related to her death; those developments are part of the public record but do not capture the people who loved her or the care she gave in daily life. This page honors K‑Leigh first as a mother, daughter, sister and caregiver whose small‑town roots and steady kindness mattered to many.

While public remembrances and funeral notices provide some details about her family and work, much of K‑Leigh’s everyday life was lived quietly among those who knew her best. Her memory lives on in her son and in the small acts of compassion she offered others — the measure of a life that, though far too short, meant a great deal to family, friends, coworkers and the residents she served.
