Obituary

A formal remembrance

Justin Blake Harrison (October 19, 1982 — August 28, 2014) was a man whose warmth and easy humor touched family and friends across Blytheville. Born to Rick Harrison and Vivian McAdoo Harrison, Justin found his calling with motorcycles and became a Certified Harley‑Davidson Motorcycle Specialist — a trade that reflected both his mechanical skill and his love of the open road.

A devoted father, Justin cherished his daughter Ryder Blake Harrison. Family life and close friendships were central to him: he liked to make people laugh, delighted in playful childhood memories shared with his sister, and called himself “Mom’s baby boy.” He was known for practical kindness too — helping friends move, fixing things for neighbors, and always being willing to lend a hand.

Justin enjoyed simple pleasures: shooting pool with friends, good food (especially his mother’s meatloaf), and the company of animals, with a special fondness for dogs. Those who knew him remember a free spirit who embraced life with courage and an unfussy joy.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ollie Lee McAdoo, and his paternal grandparents, Talmadge and Ruth Harrison. He is survived by his daughter Ryder; his parents, Rick and Vivian McAdoo Harrison; brothers Josh (Kara) and Adam (Cheryl) Harrison; sisters Candas (Adam) Bivens and Crystal (Fletcher) Whaley; his girlfriend Emily Wilson; grandmother Lady Dee McAdoo; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who held him dear.

Though his life ended far too soon, Justin’s ready smile, helpful nature, and fierce love for his daughter and family remain. Those who remember him carry forward the small, steadfast kindnesses and the laughter he gave so freely.
