Remembering Jordan

A life held close in memory

Jordan Javon "Man" Savage, 26, of Waterbury, was called home unexpectedly on September 13, 2022. Born October 15, 1995, in Waterbury, Jordan was a beloved son of Lisa Marie (Roy) Julian and the late Leonard Franklin Savage Jr. He grew up in the Waterbury public schools and continued his education at Kaynor Tech and Kennedy High School before graduating from Waterbury Adult Education.

Eager to build a practical career, Jordan completed training at Job Corps and at the New England Tractor Trailer School (NETTS), where he earned his Commercial Driver’s License. He put that achievement to work driving for Star Distributors. Those who knew Jordan remember him as a family-centered man who cherished time with loved ones and close friends.

Jordan had a few passions that revealed his gentle, creative spirit. He loved cooking, experimenting with flavors and sharing meals he created with family and friends. He enjoyed freestyle rap and would often rap for fun to instrumental beats, and he carried with him a lifelong love of swimming—frequently spending time at his local community pool refining his stroke and enjoying the water.

Jordan is remembered by his mother, Lisa Marie Julian; siblings Frankie Savage, Jalessa Roy, Janae Savage, and Jade Savage; grandmother Cheryl (McKinney) Savage; aunts Lorraine Savage and LaTanya Savage; uncle Lance Savage; his niece Makayla Savage and nephew Jahkai Smith; his longtime companion Jahnaya Cooper; and a wide circle of cousins, extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his father Leonard Franklin Savage Jr., his son Jahsahn Savage, grandfather Leonard Franklin Savage Sr., grandmother Patricia Roy, and nephew Mahkai Savage.

Those who loved Jordan recall a kind heart, quiet creativity, and a steady devotion to family. He will be remembered for the warmth of his presence, his kitchen experiments, his playful raps, and the many small ways he cared for the people around him.
