Remembering Jordan
A life held close in memory
Jordan Eugene Griffey, 14, of Williamstown, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on December 4, 2021. Jordan brought a simple, joyful devotion to the outdoors: he loved spending time hunting, fishing, and riding four-wheelers. Those who knew him recall a young life shaped by afternoons in the timber and the close-knit rhythms of Clark County community life.
Jordan was a freshman at Clark County R-1 High School and a beloved son and brother. He is survived by his parents and his sisters, Miah, JaKiyah and Aubrie Griffey, and by grandparents, aunts, uncles and extended family who mourn his loss. Family and friends gathered to celebrate Jordan’s life at a memorial service held in Kahoka on December 10, 2021, where people from across the community came together to honor his memory.
Though Jordan’s years were few, his presence left an impression on those around him: a young person at home in rural life, happiest when outdoors with family and friends. The family requested memorial contributions in his name, and asked that those who wish to remember Jordan reflect on the things he loved most — time spent in nature, the company of loved ones, and the small, everyday moments that define youth in a rural community.
Jordan’s family and community remember him with tenderness, holding fast to the warmth of his short but meaningful life. He will be remembered by all who loved him for his quiet spirit and the simple pleasures that brought him joy.
