Their life, in the words of those who remember
The story of Jordan Alexander Radway
Jordan Alexander Radway was a young man known for his energy, leadership and commitment to others. Born and raised in Montgomery County, Maryland, Jordan distinguished himself both in the classroom and on the court. He graduated from Paint Branch High School where he earned athletic and academic honors, including scholar‑athlete recognition and a varsity letter in basketball. Those early achievements presaged a lifetime of involvement in team activities, service and mentorship.
After high school Jordan attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), where he pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Media Studies with a minor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, graduating in May 2018. While at UMBC he served as an intern in the Athletic Communications Department and took part in campus media work. Jordan was also initiated into the Theta Chi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., where he was known among peers by the line name “Producer” and served as Gatekeeper — roles that reflected his leadership and dedication to brotherhood.
Jordan gave time and effort to community projects throughout his life. He participated in service activities such as feeding people experiencing homelessness and organizing shoe drives for students in need. As a teenager he traveled on a mission trip to New Orleans to assist with rebuilding work in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, an early expression of the compassion he would carry forward in later years.
Family and friends remember Jordan for his charisma, sense of style, and the way he lifted up those around him. Accounts from those who knew him describe an “engaging spirit” and a presence that could light up a room — someone who could make people laugh, inspire them, and bring them together. In the wake of his passing, the Radway family has honored his memory by creating Jordan’s Way Foundation to support local youth, nurture dreams and promote self‑love, continuing Jordan’s legacy of service and encouragement.
Jordan’s life was cut tragically short on January 28, 2019. While that loss is part of the public record, it is the warmth, ambition and community commitment of Jordan Alexander Radway that endure. He is remembered by family, friends, classmates and teammates for the joy, leadership and compassion he shared with others.
