Jerry Denard Robinson

Jerry Denard Robinson (d. August 6, 2016) is remembered by family and friends for the important place he held in their lives. A father to several children, Jerry’s name is carried forward by those he loved most: Jerry Robinson, Jr., Jay Marquise Robinson, Jeri-anona Robinson, Dontarius Spigner, Quanee Gilghcrest and Jeremiah Jones. He was cherished by siblings, grandchildren, extended family, and a wide circle of friends who stood with his loved ones during a difficult time.

Family played a central role in Jerry’s life. He is survived by siblings including Terry Robinson and Tameka Robinson, and was preceded in death by his parents, Elaine Robinson Spivey and Jimmy Lee Spivey. Relatives who mourned him included grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins who remembered him at services in Tampa.

Those who knew Jerry gathered at Wilson Funeral Home in Tampa for services honoring his memory. The visitation was held the evening before the service, giving family and friends the opportunity to offer condolences and share stories of his life. The funeral service was officiated by Pastor Miriam Crawford and provided space for the community to celebrate Jerry’s life and the relationships he built.

Though public records note the tragic circumstances of his passing, the focus at his memorial was on the human ties he left behind — children, family, and friends who carry his memory forward. Friends and family remembered him through their presence, prayers, and the many small remembrances shared during the service. Jerry’s life mattered to those who loved him and his memory lives on in their care and remembrance.
