Remembering Jeremy

A life held close in memory

Jeremy Herman Trujillo Jr., born May 24, 1995 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, was a lively 16-year-old who loved the outdoors and the companionship of his dogs. A student at Robert F. Kennedy High School, Jeremy found joy in simple, steady pursuits — hunting, fishing and spending time with family. He was known to those who loved him as polite and caring, a young man who looked forward to working in the forest and to the small adventures that mattered in everyday life.

Jeremy was the son of Jeremy and Prudie Trujillo and was welcomed by sisters Ashley and Emily, grandparents and extended family who treasured his presence. He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather Herman Chavez and is survived by close family members including grandparents Bernie and James Stauffer, Dr. Josephine Chavez, and Lawrence Trujillo, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who remember him warmly.

Family and friends gathered to celebrate Jeremy’s life at a visitation and funeral in Albuquerque in late March 2012. Those who knew him remember a young man whose kindness and love of the outdoors left a quiet, lasting impression. Jeremy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him and remembered for the gentle enthusiasm with which he approached the world.
