Remembering Jeremiah

A life held close in memory

Jeremiah Nygel Laquin Bynum of Crossett, Arkansas, was a young man who brightened ordinary days with a friendly spirit and a curiosity for creative and digital pursuits. A lifelong resident of Crossett, Jeremiah loved to draw and spend time with video games and computers — simple joys that reflected both his imagination and the way he connected with friends and neighbors.

Those who knew Jeremiah remembered someone who “never met a stranger,” a description that speaks to his approachable nature and willingness to share a laugh or a conversation. He grew up in the Crossett community and was shaped by family ties and local friendships that mattered deeply in his life. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joseph Bynum and Margaret McFee, and his maternal grandparents, Robert and Mary Donaldson-Peeler.

Though Jeremiah’s life was far too brief, the warmth he showed in daily moments has stayed with those who loved him. Whether sketching, playing a game, or simply enjoying time with others, he left behind memories of a young man who found joy in creativity and company.

Jeremiah’s passing on January 26, 2017, was mourned by family and friends in Crossett and beyond. Those who carry his memory forward remember his gentle presence and the light he brought into ordinary days. May his family find comfort in the many small, cherished moments he created and in the knowledge that he was known and loved by his community.
