Obituary

A formal remembrance

Jenny Lynn Cashwell, born May 22, 1981 in Bend, Oregon, was known for her steady commitment to animals, her community, and the outdoor life of central Oregon. Raised by her parents Lynn Shores and Cathy Crabtree Shores, Jenny grew up immersed in 4‑H and FFA projects and found a lifelong love of horses. She graduated from Mountain View High School in 1999 and carried those early passions into adulthood.

Jenny was active in the local equestrian community and was crowned Deschutes County Rodeo Queen in 1998 with her trusted horse, Bo Wrangler — a moment her family and friends remember with affection. She worked as an insurance agent with Fullhart Insurance in Sisters, where colleagues recall her consistent work ethic and friendly manner. Outside of work, Jenny’s love of animals was often mentioned by those who knew her; she could frequently be found outdoors caring for animals or enjoying time in the country.

She was also part of the Sisters fitness community and inspired others there; local friends and fellow members organized events such as a “Lift for Jenny” fundraiser in her memory. Jenny’s presence in the communities of Bend and Sisters is remembered through the quieter, kinder parts of daily life: the generosity shown to animals, the pride in county traditions, and the friendships she cultivated.

Jenny passed away on January 12, 2019. Her death was met with sorrow across the communities she touched, and her memory is honored by family, friends, and neighbors who remember her warmth, her devotion to animals, and her participation in local life. Those who wish to leave remembrances or condolences may find her tribute page through the funeral provider listed by her family.
