Remembering Jennifer

A life held close in memory

Jennifer Marie Parrett, 27, of North Manchester, formerly of Wabash, is remembered for the love she poured into her family and the quiet pleasures that brought her joy. Born November 29, 1982, in Wabash, Indiana, Jennifer was a graduate of Wabash High School (class of 2001) and a devoted mother who centered her life on caring for her two sons, Isaiah and Elijah.

Friends and family recall Jennifer’s gentle spirit and her enjoyment of simple, creative pastimes. She loved scrapbooking, spending time outdoors, listening to music, and socializing with close friends. Active in her community faith, Jennifer was a member of the Potters House Ministries in Wabash, where her faith and friendships were an important part of her life.

Professionally, in the final years before her death she worked at Dairy Queen in Rochester, where colleagues remember her as friendly and hardworking. Family was central to Jennifer’s life — she is survived by her parents, Brad S. Parrett and Pamela G. Light; her sons, Isaiah F. Hunt and Elijah E. Hunt; sisters Jessica L. Parrett and Brittany C. Light; brother Jeremy S. Parrett and his wife Jessica M. Parrett; and her grandmother Frances Parrett, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service celebrating Jennifer’s life was held on March 13, 2010, with burial in Falls Cemetery, Wabash. Those who knew her remember a young woman who loved her children fiercely, cared for her family, and found happiness in creativity and the outdoors. Donations in her memory were suggested for the support of her sons.

Jennifer’s family and community remember her for the everyday ways she brightened the lives of others. Though her life was cut tragically short, the love she showed her children and those close to her endures in their memories.
