Remembering Jazlynn

A life held close in memory

Jazlynn Johnson was an 18-year-old from Las Vegas whose bright spirit and quiet kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. A high school graduate with plans to attend cosmetology school, Jazlynn loved makeup and Hello Kitty and took pride in expressing herself. She was remembered by family and friends as easygoing, thoughtful, and full of promise.

Jazlynn treasured time with her loved ones and enjoyed the simple pleasures that reflected her personality — experimenting with cosmetics, sharing laughs with friends, and capturing memories at local spots she and her peers liked to visit. Those who knew her speak of a young woman who had goals for her future and the determination to pursue them.

Her family held a memorial to celebrate her life, and friends and community members rallied to honor her memory, creating tributes and a scholarship fund to support others pursuing cosmetology in her name. In the months after her passing, community vigils and remembrances reflected how deeply Jazlynn was loved and how many lives she touched in her short time.

Though her life was cut far too short, Jazlynn’s warmth, creativity, and the small joys she shared — her smile, her makeup looks, her Hello Kitty things — continue to be remembered by those who loved her. May her memory remain a comfort to her family and a reminder of the value of every young life and dream.

Jazlynn was gone far too soon. May the love, memories, and moments connected to this life continue to be treasured, and may those mourning find comfort in remembering what mattered most.
