Remembering Janice
A life held close in memory
Janice Erickson Wildnauer of Brockway, Pennsylvania, passed away on April 10, 2018. Born May 25, 1959, in DuBois, Janice was a devoted daughter, sister, and friend whose steady kindness marked both her work and community life. A 1977 graduate of Brockway High School, she continued her education at Gannon University and completed a paralegal degree in 1980.
For 29 years Janice built a respected career at Sensus Corporation (now Xylem Corporation), where she served as a senior manager. Colleagues remembered her for dedication to her responsibilities and the collaborative spirit she brought to leadership. Even as she cared for demanding professional duties, Janice’s deepest commitments were to family and community.
Janice spent the last decade of her life caring for her parents, a role she carried out with patience and devotion. She was an active, faithful member of St. Tobias Roman Catholic Church, where she managed collection receipts for more than 25 years, and she generously volunteered her time at the Mengle Memorial Library in Brockway. Those who knew her recall a person who quietly supported others and took pleasure in small acts of service.
She is survived by her mother, Patricia Erickson; a brother, John (Val) Erickson; and sisters Mary Rita (Steve) Brown and Francie (Dave) Spigelmyer, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family who treasured her presence. Funeral services were conducted by Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial held at St. Tobias Church and burial at St. Tobias Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Janice’s memory were suggested for the Mengle Memorial Library or Highland View Healthcare—causes reflecting her love of community and care for others. Janice’s life is remembered for steadfast service, quiet generosity, and the warmth she brought to family, friends, coworkers, and her local community.
